Electric Guitar Help! I need somebody to help me choose a humbucker pickup.?
OK, I currently have a Yamaha RGX520FZ. It has a mahogany body and rosewood fingerboard. I’m looking to replace its bridge pick-up to something good. I need some “Bright” tones (though I’m not sure what that means). I already have a good Jazz neck pick-up but I want something for rock and heavy rock that’s good with distortion. Price is good up to $80 or so and I’m probably buying it on EBay. I heard Duncan humbuckers and Dimarzios are good but I don’t know what model type and all that.
Any help?
If you want a clean sound, get Seymour Duncan . I personally use DiMarzio on my Gibson les paul because the sound is dirties and very fat.
Buy the dual coil DiMarzzio.. Their is no set rules since it is going to replace the front pickup. The sound will already be a little more mellow but still retain the bite.
What i lvoe about Dimarzzio is that, if you lower the volume a bit, the sound gets cleaner and if tend to solo, just push the volume all the way up to get that distorted sound.
