How much is my Grandmother’s guitar and banjo worth?
My grandmother just gave me a Geiss Tenor banjo that is 63 years old, AT LEAST. And she also gave me an acoustic Kay guitar that is also at least 63 years old. Everything on it is original…
I’m taken them to my local guitar shop that I go to for lessons and to buy vintage guitars. I’m going to get them fixed up into playable condition, to play and pass on to my children to be kept in the family…
Can someone give me a good estimate?
Please and thank you.
Actually, some original Kay guitars are quite collectible and some in good condition have value. I can’t say what yours might be worth, as I have no idea what Kay guitar you have. I can tell you it might be worth investigating. Kay guitars sell anywhere from $25 to $4000, depending on model and condition.
I never heard of an instrument maker called Geiss. It doesn’t really matter what it’s worth. If it can be made to play well, I’m sure it will make a great heirloom.
xx
