Help with guitar wiring (Grounding)?

i have recently built my own guitar, however my teacher had done the wiring for me, i have just tested it out for the first time and when i plugged it in, there was a constant buzzing noise, unless I touched the metal part of the input jack, and if I touch any other metal part on the body i get a louder buzzing noise and sometimes a squeal. how do I resolve this I have a feeling it is a problem with the grounding, if my teacher even has done that?

if you have an idea on how the wiring goes…..then attach/solder the ground wire to the bridge of your guitar (this should help)….also if your willing to slightly alter the look of your guitar (unless you have already) run the same grounding wire from the bridge to the ground element of your volume potentiomenter…….if this is too confusing consult a guitar shop….or take a large metal washer or something and attach it to your grounding wire….it will help a little bit…..if you still have reservations about opening up the back of your guitar……well…….i dont know
