Guitar circuitry, standard strat wiring with gain boost switch?

I recently “reacquired” my first electric guitar, which i wanna fix up and sell. It plays really nice (nicer than when i learnt on it) but i cant figure the electronics.
I recently built my own guitar from scratch with no problems, so i have a rough idea of what goes on inside a guitar, but this one has stumped me.

Its a strat style with three single coils, volume, 2x tone and a 5way switch, easy peesy. But there’s also a 9v battery attached for a gain boost, this includes a small circuit board within the circuit and a little switch on the pickgaurd. When i received the guitar the circuit had various loose wires and did not work so i don’t know how it was to start with, i know this is a long shot but if anyone can help it would be much appreciated!

I can provide pictures and/or more detail if required

thanks
Dan

Try searching for a circuit diagram for your brand of guitar. If that is a bust and your circuit board is still a problem, try searching for a wiring diagram of a Strat. You can rewire the guitar like a Strat and remove the battery powered pre-amp entirely. Three pieces of advice, if you are going to keep doing this sort of thing… 1) get a good soldering iron, like an Antek… something with a low wattage or an adjustable temp, and a fine tip. 2) get an inexpensive multimeter and learn how to check continuity with the resistance setting. (I prefer one that makes a sound when there is continuity.) 3) get a couple of heat sinks to protect the stuff you are soldering.
Be aware, working on circuit boards is tricky and a really good way to destroy a circuit board. (a solder sucker or wick is nice too) Heating up a solder joint on a board to work with it requires more heat than just putting the component on the board in the first place did.
Best of luck!
