Should I change my guitar strings?

I just got a guitar around a month ago, and I was wondering, is it okay if I change my guitar strings? Or do I have to take it to the store and have them change it?
I know I have to buy stuff for it (like peg winders and string winders)
but I still kind of want to change them myself. I don’t want to take it to the store every time I change them…
I know that most people change their own guitar strings, but I’m kind of new at this (I had a guitar a few years ago – I didn’t even know you were supposed to change the strings unless they broke)
so what do you recommend?

You probably do need to change the strings. Most display guitars in stores have strings that have corroded over time. It’s very simple to change strings. When I was a beginner, I discovered how to do it intuitively without any how-to guide or anything. All you need is a pack of strings and wirecutters. No winders or anything else is needed.

You’re going to remove and replace one string at a time. You don’t want to take all the strings off at once, it’ll mess up the neck. Take one off, put one on.

Use these videos as your guide, whether it’s an acoustic or electric. It’s really simple and you can probably figure it out yourself even.
