Can I change the color of my acoustic guitar cherry red, back to its natural maple finish?

It's possible. However, I think you'd have to eliminate neck and body chains and adjustment. If you do it yourself would be tedious, but not too expensive. A professional carpenter or would do a much better work and may be worth paying. If you remove the collar and chain, I do not see this being so expensive. It would eliminate the existing layer, the sand soft layer of clear lacquer.
