guitar upgrading

I am looking for a new guitar and I have a limited budget, can anyone please help?

I have been playing for about a year now and I need to upgrade my guitar. Right now I have a Squiere strat. My budget is about 300-400. I play metal like Metallica, system of a down, and others so something that sounds good with Metallica would be great. Thanks

Definitely check out ESP guitars, mainly the LTDs. The LTDs are to ESP like Epiphone is to Gibson: HIGH QUALITY LOW PRICE. Theyre all mostly around 300-400 new. If you’re looking at Metallica you can maybe get a used Kirk Hammet 202 for 300, I have that guitar and it sounds perfect. Also, James Hetfield plays a modified Eclipse (the Truckster) and these can also be found for about 350-400.
The Dean ML can also be around 350 bucks, as well as a lot of BC Richs. I started out with a Squier Strat as well and I’ve bought both the KH and Eclipse model LTD’s. The KH cost me 370 and the EC was 250 (eBay). Check out SamAsh.com, it’s a wholesale music company and their prices are incomparable. You won’t find a better deal ANYWHERE. Try your best to find guitars with EMG pickups, they’re awesome and they sound great. Most mid-priced guitars automatically have them. I don’t think the Dean ML does, but don’t worry it still sounds great, I test played one for my brother the other day.
