Guitar Maintenance?
alllright. I got my guitar over a year ago. I haven’t changed the strings once. I don’t play it constantly, but I have been playing it quite a bit lately and I have no idea when to change them.
Well, I would suppose after a year, regardless of whether they’ve been played or not, you should change them. Here’s a great video that shows how to restring one properly. http://www.gieson.com/Library/projects/video/restring/index.html
If you’ve never restrung a guitar before, don’t be disappointed if something isn’t right (This has happened to me so many times) The more you do it, the better you’ll get at it.
If you’re regularly playing it, you should restring a guitar every three months, but if you play it a lot they may need to be changed only after a couple weeks.
