Is there a difference between electric/acoustic guitar chords?

Hi,

I’m getting an acoustic guitar for my birthday, and I want to learn to play it so I can perform some of my favourite songs (Nemo, Planet Hell, Time of Your Life, etc) and also compose a couple so I’m looking up sheet music to give me an idea of what it’ll look like.

Trouble is, I know the strings on an acoustic guitar are: EADBGE, but the sheet music I’m finding are for strings EBGDAE.

Is this a difference, or is it something like EADBGE are the strings and EBGDAE are the frets/is the fret? I’d be very grateful if somebody could explain this to me!

Thank you!

G.
Please note that I AM confused on another issue:

If not the fret, is/are EBGDAE for electric guitar? Thanks!
Here’s an example of what I’m looking at:

No they are both the same!
The reason why it is different for that sheet music is because you may have to tune down/tune up, cetain strings to play that certain song.
But over all EADGBE (this way the G & B were wrong way round!!) is regular tuning for any six string guitar.

Plus i have noticed that for that sheet music EBGDAE is just saying EADGBE the other way around!!
So i’m guessing they are just writing the other way around and you do not even have to tune it up or down. Wooo!

Hope this helps :-)
