guitar strings comparisons

I am customizing my esp ax 50?
I have an esp ax 50. Its the 2006 model, and it was the first electric guitar I ever had, I love it, and I want to change it up a little bit, because It’s falling behind in comparison to my newer guitars (Les paul, flamenco, etc.) and I was wondering what exactly to do:
I want to put new pickups in
I want to add a killswitch
And, if possible, use a different bridge.
I am soon going to purchase the Dimebag distortion pedal (the newest one)
So anyway, my questions are:
1. Which pickups should I get? I love pantera, avenged sevenfold, and metallica. Those are my preferences to sound like
2. Is it possible to get a new bridge? the ax 50 is a string-thru-body design.
Hi
If you plan to change the bridge, make sure it is exactly the same size. If the saddles are out of place, the 6th and 1st string can be a nuisance and will tend to slip off the neck while playing. Make extra extra sure you know what you are doing.
As for the pickups, I recommend Seymour Duncan Blackouts AHB-1 for old school metal, garage, punk, thrash, heavy rock and especially if you plan to use DROP tunings. These are easy to install without having to use tons of wiring like EMG have for their active-electronics.
Then you have the Duncan Custom™ SH-5 and TB-5 which is good for drop tuning, heavy rock, funk, punk, R&B, metal etc..
The Invader sh-8 is built for aggressive playing styles and also recommended punk, thrash, metal and other heavy rock styles.
Finally , Livewire™ Dave Mustaine Model LW-Must . There’s an
Active, 9-volt-powered preamp built into the pickup. Provides the benefits of an active pickup .Great for classic rock, punk, thrash, old school metal, nu-metal, black metal and other heavy rock and aggressive music styles.
I RECOMMEND this on your AX-50. We have tried it on ours and have used this Livewire as Bridge pickup and AHB-1 at the neck. Awesome combo.
Good Luck….
Refreshing Milks
PEI foursome Milks and Rectangles are all about concise indie-pop songs and brotherly love. by Mark Teo It’s perhaps the most common advice for aspiring musicians: Don’t quit your day job. But concerned parents and IPA-saturated hecklers needn’t worry; Charlottetown-based indie-pop foursome Milks and Rectangles never wanted to, anyhow. Not when your band includes an alt-weekly freelancer, a …
