Is learning guitar a good hobby for children?

Learning guitar is not just fun, but it develops a child’s creative and innovative skills. They also develop a great deal of concentration by learning new things and practicing them over and over. From my experience, when I was a child I felt proud to go for guitar classes, and learn a new lesson. And it was my tool to show off to my friends and not to mention the opposite sex. I had feeling of uniqueness and confidence each time I learned a new riff or lead segment on my guitar as a child. Though I would recommmend piano and violin for children, my pick would always be guitar, that’s because of it’s portability. You can carry an acoustic guitar whereever you go without any problem and play it at a picnic or a small gathering or get together without any wires or amps, but that is not the case with a Piano. You need a piano stand, you need the amp, speaker and lot of other paraphrenelia. And violin, to be frank is quite difficult to learn as child, though not impossible. That’s because it doesn’t have frets like guitars and it requires a lot of patience from the learner’s part to internalize every note at different positions of the finger board. But of course one can learn it with consistent practice and right kind of guidance. But often children lack that much of consistency and patience. That’s the reason I am endorsing guitar for children. As you must be knowing guitar is an instrument of youth, flaunting and contemporary style and that’s exactly what children are looking for each day. So it will be quite easier for you as a parent to motivate your child for learning guitar. Above all that your child will learn to improve his/her patience, determination, and consistency by trying to make their guitar lessons perfect by repetitive practice and learning to sit at a place for a longer duration. Studies have shown that children will try to replicate the same qualities in their studies.

Well, from my experience as a guitarist who have been playing for over a decade, I have learned from personal tutor, guitar school and online guitar training. Of all the methods what I have found to be convenient, comprehensive and affordable is online training.
