Guitar pickups?

I am looking at the emg 81 humbucking active guitar pickup and it says that that there is a maximum battery life….. so when the battery runs out…do u have to open the guitar again to replace or charge this power source? another question… if i go to a music store to put the pickup in my guitar,how much do u think it will cost usually?

You will use a 9 volt battery and it is going to sit behind your guitar in a panel, if your guitar doesn’t have this panel then it can be tricky to install those pick ups, you might have to get passive pick-ups, those don’t use battery power. Take it to the shop, I would say you can probably have them installed for about $30. That is a reasonable estimate, assuming there is nothing wrong with your wiring.
