guitar slapping

guitar slapping
When I play my Bass Guitar, I always seem to be slapping down the low E string, and it taps loudly a fret bar.?

What am I doing wrong? Am I just hitting it too hard?

I’m a starter at the bass guitar, so I have many questions to ask. But mostly about how to hit the string properly.

That is simply something that you will have to deal with when playing a bass. They will always get at least a little bit of fret buzz, but it usually will not be noticeable out of the amp if you use a good technique and have the instrument set up properly.

When playing bass you have to use a softer touch with your plucking hand but still press the string down hard with your fretting hand which can be a bit difficult to do at first. You can also try playing closer to the bridge, as the string will vibrate less and will not get as much fret buzz.

If it is really bad and playing lighter does not help it might be because of the bass itself. The truss rod or action may need adjusting or a fret may be too high. Those are common issues but they can be fixed easily.

Malkin Bowl witnesses solid Blue Rodeo
- Blue Rodeo, Malkin Bowl, Aug. 23. Nearly every superlative in the dictionary has been used to describe the Toronto six-piece band throughout their two decade-long career, a consistency that many musicians have trouble sustaining for two albums.
