How do I put a digital picture into this template?
My husband is a musician, and his birthday is coming up.
I’m planning to make him a guitar-shaped cake and I want to use a customized pick as a cake topper.
I found a website to order the pick from.
They can print photo images onto their picks.
I have a picture of our son in a black t-shirt and fohawk holding a red rose already on my computer.
I’ve already downloaded this template: http://www.mybadges.co.uk/templates/photopick.jpg onto my computer from the website.
They say I’m supposed to put the image I want inside the template, how I want it to be shown, and then send it back to them.
I don’t know how to do that, I’m not very computer savvy.
Could anyone advise me on how I can get the image I want inside the template?
Do I need like a photoshop program or anything like that?
Thank you.
Well the simplest way would be to use a graphic package to download their template jpg and then add a ‘layer’ that would be your photo and this would create a new image which you save as a jpg and send to them.
So you do need some graphic software to handle this.
You might be able to use something online or download a free trial of something if you don’t have it at the moment.
You may probably need to resize your image to fit within the pick-shape also before creating the layer.
If you can’t manage it you can send the jpgs and they’ll do it at: http://www.evolvingintelligence.com you can use the contact page to email initially — hope this is helpful to you?
Here is thecontact page: You can’t add an attachment here but you can mail to make contact, and then they will explain how to send them the files:

Here is an example made very quickly with your YA! avatar:

Another suggestion:
You can use this online editor:
http://www.pixlr.com/editor/
and create something like this in a few minutes — albeit that you’ll need to learn how to use the editing process and get photos into the editor — but it’s not too hard. I did this in a couple of minutes using only this tool having downloaded the pick image and your avatar (note the image quality naturally isn’t great as i had to ‘enlarge’ that little avatar for this example):
