guitar phrasing definition

guitar phrasing definition

can anyone tell me what musical phrasing is? preferably with guitar music?

i need to know what this is cause apparently its key in soloing. i tried looking it up but the definition made no sense! can somebody help me out? im just a guitar player willing to learn more

The second and third answerers are correct, but I’d like to add that phrasing is also what makes your playing uniquely ‘you’.

Each musical artist may employ slightly different phrasing in a solo. Think of Frank Sinatra (not a guitarist, but he had an amazing ability to make any song his own simply by putting his stamp on the phrasing.) If you played a tune the same way, all the way through, every time—it would be kind of boring, right? Phrasing helps you to change the passages just enough to keep the listener interested.
