what types of guitars use Nitro Cellulous Lacquer Guitar Finish?

i’m wondering because i bought an ej-200 and a stand off line that warns against using Nitro Cellulous Lacquer Guitar Finish because a reaction might occur with the foam. i had no idea this was an issue because i bought the stand online

Most higher end electric and acoustic guitars are finished in nitrocellulose finishes. This makes the guitar “breathe” and it is also much easier to repair and polish. It is also more fragile though. Furthermore, it is usually more costly to deal with, primarily because of the environmental issues with the solvents being used.

All cheap/low end guitar use other types of finishes – harder types such as polyester (which in effect is a form of plastics).

And it is true that some types of foam used on guitar stands may, over time mark the instrument if it is finished with nitrocellulose finishes.

If you are uncertain about this I would change the stand to one that is safe, or cover the foam on the current one with for instance some light paper and some tape.
