Do professional guitar players ever use other signature guitarists guitars?

I am curious as a friend of mine owns an Gibson ES-333 Tom Delonge and has just singed onto a indie label, will he be taking seriously as a guitar and or musician.

Well, to answer your question, yes. I’m sure you know that MANY musicians use a Les Paul, which is technically a signature guitar. Many metal musicians use the Randy Rhoad’s V. Granted, these players have pretty much transcended music while Tom Delonge is still not considered a legend in many minds. Regardless, your friend’s playing will do the talking, and I personally would think nothing less of someone using someone’s signature guitar. After all, it’s only an instrument.
