Guitar: How do you identify chords and a strum pattern from a song?

I have been playing guitar for about 5 months, very much still a beginnner. But how do I identify chords and a strum pattern from songs I hear (besides just looking them up on the internet)?

Any tips?

as for chords…you can go onto websites..like

e-chords.com
or
ultimate-guitar.com…unless you know someone that can identify chords for you

and as for the strums…for me, i just make up my own. it all depends on the speed of the song, the beat, and the way the song flows.
