How good is the Griffin Garageband cable for recording with a bass guitar?
As the tittle says, I would like to record my bass directly into Garageband and I see the Griffin cable as a good straight to the point way to do that. I want to know, how good is the sound quality? And is the cable compatible with more recent versions of Garageband?
You really don’t need a special cable to record to GarageBand or any other recording software. You can use your regular instrument cable, and pick up a 1/4 inch to 1/8 inch jack converter from an electrical store for a fraction of the cost of the Griffin cable. As long as your regular instrument cable is of good quality, this method will mean you get a perfectly good quality signal into your Mac.
Also, there are no compatibility issues surrounding the cable used and the type of software. The cable is just how you get the signal from your instrument into your Mac’s sound card, so the version or type of software you’re using isn’t an issue.
