What is a good guitar amp?
I’m planning on getting an Epiphone Les Paul but I have no idea what amp I should get.
Any good brands I should get? Nothing expensive please. About $50 is what I’m aiming for unless there arn’t any good amps for that price.
And I don’t want to sound too noobish but I’ve always played acoustic guitar so I have no idea what those knobs are in the amp. That would be great if you enlighten me what “crunch” or “Equalization” and any other controls means.
okay then. any price. As long as it’s worth it though. I couldn’t care less about brand name. Just something to bring out the best of a les paul.
for 50 bucks you can only get a small, portable amp or something. 150 or 200 bucks is about as low as you can find a decent amp for. marshall and crate are pretty good. crunch is how gritty the distortion is and equalization is the contol over lows, highs, and mids (basically the different treble and bass frequencies). An EQ pedal will give you more options to change these settings.

if you dont mind spending more than 200 dollars then these should give you a much better quality sound. (‘tube’ amps, which are used by most pros)

an effects pedal is important for getting more ‘crunch’. the ibanez TS9 is used by many musicians from blues to metal guitar, especially with ‘tube’ amps like those two Crates.
