acoustic guitar pickup; some strings louder then others?
I use an epiphone ej200, and I added this pickup:

Artec MSP-50 EPN, magnetic Pickup for Soundhole.
I’m not using a preamp, just jacking straight from the pickup endpin into my amp.
Problem is the lower strings E A D are really quiet, but the top strings are really loud. But if I turn the volume up to hear the lower strings the top strings sound drastically loud due to the top strings being plastic.
I’m new to pickups, but is there any way to modify the pickup to balance the volume levels out?
Whatever it matters, I’m using gibson j200 .13s strings.
You can adjust each pole piece with a small screwdriver. Move them out and closer to the strings to get them louder. Don’t forget that part of balancing the sound may include making some of them quieter by turning some of the pole pieces in. You may also need to rotate the pick up in the sound hole so that each pose piece falls directly beneath a string, if your string spacing is greater or less than 10mm.
And don’t discount the benefits of using a preamp/equalizer. Once you’ve got a decent balance from the pick up, this can take you the rest of the way. Good luck!
