Guitar Cabinet Construction

Help building a guitar amp cabinet.?

Hi.
I am doing some research on building guitar cabs. I have done a ton already…
I want to build two closed back 1×12 cabs which can supply a lot of bass/low end. I would set these up stereo around the drum set, connected to my jcm 800.
I found a good guide to the Marshall 1960A cab construction, but of course thats a 412.

The real question:
I think I read somewhere that you could split the cabs up. ex: build the bottom half of a 412, and you’ve got a 212.
Could i Successfully split up a 1960A into two 112′s?
Would i keep the depth of the cab the same as the 412?

When building cabinets, find out how much displacement the quality of the speaker can handle. Secondly, keep the depth if you want lots of bottom and put the speaker facing the back for more bass. When you front load a speaker in a cabinet, you feel the punch but not the depth, Since it is a bass cabinet, you would be better off with the speaker facing the back just like the technology of Bose cabinets :)
