guitar bluegrass scales

Can anyone help me with this guitar question?
I recently joined a country/bluegrass band and I want to learn how to play the slide guitar. Anyone have any tips on riffs, or scales, or note arrangements? 10 points for a helping me
Slide guitar can be really REALLY fun and easy: Simply tune your guitar to an open chord (where when you strum all strings open it makes an A or G or whatever chord) and then use the slide to cover the 3rd, 5th, 9th, or 12th frets and just go crazy! You’ll see why it’s so popular.
