How do I get the Stevie Ray Vaughan guitar tone?

I am a huge fan of SRV but can’t figure out the tone of his guitar and amp.. I have a horrible amp, it is the Fender Strat. beginner guitar package with a 10-watt am with only 3 control knobs: The volume, the treble, and the bass. I have been playing for about 2 1/2 years with the amp, and my parents won’t let me get another amp. So how do I get the Stevie Ray Vaughan guitar tone

Here’s a good shortcut for you without having to buy a new amp. Get a Behringer X 90 (or bigger)amp/modeling simulator (less than $75) and you’ll be able to dial in SRV’S or Jimi’s tone easily. I got one year’s ago and can reproduce their tonal range on a friggin’ Ovationi acoustic-electric!

You can play it ‘as is’, keep the presets, but there’s 88 other amp/cab/tone combo’s to choose from, very ez to customize, and SRV/Jimi are both preset’s, if you want to use their sound. Be sure you get one with an expression pedal, great for volume swells, vibrato, and wah wah. It’s a new world of possibilites, so try working on ur own sound at the same time.

It’s a bit easier to learn on a Strat, which I’ve played in live settings. Ya can’t go wrong here, it’s cheaper and more versatile than a new setup, and Behringer’s offered more tone’s through the years. You can sound like SRV, Jimi, Gary Moore (or anyone in between) with a simple stomp of the footswitch. Go for it, the possibiliteis are endless, and it won’t cost a fortune…Good luck!
