electric guitar winder

Two questions about electric guitar?

I have a Fender Squier, not that I think that’s going to matter. Just thought I’d throw it out there in case. :)

I desperately need to change the strings on my guitar, but have never done it before. I know how and everything, I’m just unsure of one thing. Can I change them all at once (as in take them all off, clean my guitar, and then put them back on) or should I do them one at a time?

And what exactly is the purpose of a string winder? I know that’s stupid, but I just want to be entirely certain that I understand.

Yeah. Take them all off. Give the guitar a good clean and polish, then put the new ones on. A string winder just slips over the tuning machine to wind it up into tune quicker. Hope this helps.
