electric bass guitar, thunderbird?

Thunderbird bass, gibson & epihone?
Is this Bass easy for non-pick users, as far as action hieght, etc?
In the Gibsons, does the set-neck offer increased sustain?
Are they fragile?
I have 2 peavey USA made basses that cost less than $400 each. They were abused mercilessly and still stay in tune. I keep hearing about cracked headstocks on Gibson models, and warped nex on the epi.
Is this true? Cuz I am interested in getting one, but I am not gonna get an Epi if it is worse than my Peavey. So it will probably be a Gibson. Any input will be appreciated.

Munk I have a Epiphone Thunderbird and have played it off and on for 4 yrs now with no problems. My other bass player prefers it over his P bass I am satisified with it and I got it for 300.00 new PS. I have a Steinberger Spirit 5-string that plays great and never goes out of tune. I really like havin the low B string for some stuff we play
