classical guitar drills

guitar strap, how to attach it to a classical guitar?
I’ve got a guitar strap , and it needs a knob to attach to. And my classical guitar doesn’t have one at it’s bottom.
If i drill a hole at the bottom of my guitar and place a knob there, would it damage it’s acoustics? would it affect the quality of the sound produced?
p.s. I’ll do it myself anyway, I’m not gonna take it anywhere, so what can i do by myself?
You don’t PLAY a Classical Guitar while standing… but if you MUST then you can mount the stud just as you suggest.
The reason that Classical Guitars are traditionaly played while seated is, you are showing your ability at fingering techniques and that is easier done while seated than while standing… you don’t just strum a classical guitar if you are showing off.
This being said, there are some groups that actually use Classical guitars and the guys do play them standing up (with a strap on them), but if you see one of those guys sitting down while playing, instead of standing.. you know the piece he is playing is serious guitar playing.
A lot of EUROPEAN guitarists who play Classical and Flamenco guitars, DO play them while standing… but they don’t use straps. Straps are really an AmeriKan invention.
