classical guitar construction
I’d like to try my hand at playing guitar, but I’m left hand dominant. Is it possible to ‘re-string’……..?
I’ve heard that all I’d need to do is to get a ‘normal’ right handed classical guitar, and transpose the strings. Is this true? Can it be as simple as that??
I can see that there are some guitars that obviously can’t be ‘reversed’ because of the construction of the body, but are there really some guitars that can be ‘reversed’?
Please be aware that I know nothing about guitars – yet!
Max; Just flipping it upside down would invert the strings – genious! The trebles would be where the bass should be and vice versa!!
Yes, you can re-string it, but more usefully than that, some models can be bought as left-hand guitars so the shape will fit your more comfortably and you won’t need to restring. Here’s an example: http://www.lefthandedguitars.co.uk/ Good luck!
