Would learning Classical Guitar help my bass chops?

There is a beginning guitar class at the local Community College. I’d like to take a class of some sort for guitar. Would taking a classical guitar class help or hurt what I am learning on the bass?
I’m kind of a lower Intermediate Bassist and I don’t play in an ensamble of any kind so learning it without a primary target or focus has been frustrating. I’m kind of hoping the class will help my learning of the Bass which is my ultimate goal. Learning Classical Guitar would be a heck of a Plus!

Your bass knowledge will help your studies of the guitar. Classical guitar is a lot of fingerpicking. I play acoustic guitar and I’m a great fingerpicker, but a terrible strummer. I am learning Bass because bass helps you progress with the guitar.

I would imagine that if learning bass helps with guitar playing then learning guitar would help your bass playing.
