Acoustic Guitar Songs?
I am going to a tryout for a talent show this Wednesday, and I was wondering if there were any good songs to play with an acoustic guitar that sound great, but aren’t easy to mess up on. It could have vocal accompaniment as well, although I’d rather have the focus on my guitar as opposed to my voice. I already have these in mind:
1. Tears in Heaven-Eric Clapton
2. The Seeker-The Who
3. Pinball Wizard-The Who
4. Blackbird-The Beatles
I’ve also considered Lord, I Lift Your Name on High, but that places a lot of emphasis on the voice. I just want to wow the crowd (and, of course, all Glory goes to the Lord Jesus). I would definitely do Pinball Wizard if it weren’t for the fact that a few of my friends are trying out for that as a full band, and if mine, for some reason, gets chosen over theirs, I would feel like I’ve stabbed them in the back. I forgot to mention, it can be fingerstyle or picked, but I would prefer picked. God Bless!
“Hotel California” is always an attention-getter, provided you can get all the chords in the key of Bm.
Another is “The House of the Rising Sun” in Dm.
