why does my acoustic guitar sounds weird?

i bought this acoustic guitar ‘Tribal’ brand, and i have been playing it for the last 6 month or so and i love it, however, yesterday i went to change the strings, i bought d’addrio strngs recommended by the shop, and after i fix, and tune my guitar, when i strum it sounds really weird to me, my friend says that posibbly its because my guitar quality is not good, that’s why it doesn’t sound good, but i am not sure, anyone have any thought why? ‘Tribal’ guitar is used in alot of music school, so cannot be the guitar is not good right? i am so confused, each time i strum my guitar, i feel weird and make me dun wanna play it.
yeah, i diid use a tuner, and its tune properly, i can play with it, but it sound kinda different from other acoustic guitar.

It’s probably just that new string tone. A lot of times the strings you take off are old and dull sounding. When you put the new ones on they are full of life and can make your guitar sound different until they are broken in. We used to call it ”new string tone”. As long as the guitar is playing okay and the tuning is right I wouldn’t worry about it. The sound will come around after a few days of playing.
