Is the huntington acoustic guitar a decent one for beginners?

I want to buy a decent one since I am just starting to play and I dont have a lot of money to splurge on an expensive guitar,so this one seems like a good deal

Almost certainly mass-produced in a Chinese factory and sold under a variety of brand names, of which “Huntington” is just one.

Any guitar that sells new for $75 with soft case, extra strings, etc is pretty cheap in terms of quality of materials used, workmanship, and so on. Don’t know if I’d go so far as to call it a “decent” guitar, at least not without seeing it first. OTOH, if you’re not sure you’re going to stick with the guitar, then it doesn’t make sense to spend a lot of money on your first instrument.

I’d be cautious about buying a guitar sight unseen on Craigslist — or anyplace else on the Internet. I’m of the opinion that the best way to buy a guitar is to try it out first, check out the construction, see how it plays and what it sounds like before spending your hard-earned money on it. If the seller is local to you, and you can go to his shop to look at the guitars, try a bunch of them out and pick out the one that sounds and plays best to you, then I would do that. Individual instruments even of the same make and model can vary in sound and feel, and quality. Bring a guitar-playing friend or relative with you if at all possible to help you select, and if you find one you particularly like the sound and feel of, buy THAT individual guitar. Don’t let the seller talk you into taking a “fresh one right out of the box” instead.

If you can’t go try out the guitars before you buy, get him to ship you the guitar on 48 or 72-hour approval with a full money-back guarantee — then when you get the guitar, show it to someone whose opinion you trust — a guitar playing friend, relative, music teacher or guitar repair person — and get their opinion. If you don’t like it, or if it turns out to be an unplayable guitar-shaped object made of something not much better than cardboard — you can send it back and get a refund.
