Which style to play the Electric Guitar?

Hi guys! I would like to ask about the styles of playing electric guitars. I am currently playing the electric guitar and Acoustic(steel-strung) by using FLATpicking(with picks). I would like to know that should i play the electric guitar by fingerpicking? If i stick with the flatpicking style which i liked, will i lose out any important techniques from the fingerpicking style?

for electric guitar, use picks..

playing electric with fingers makes the sound not as clear (in my opinion)

try usin finger style with you acoustic though.
