Can a silver plectrum be used with an acoustic guitar?

wanted to get one engraved for xmas present but won’t bother if it’s going to sound rubbish.

yeah it wont sound too good, but i have tons of pics i dont play with, and some glass ones even, that are just for fun. so it can be a cool thing to have and not play with, silver isn’t really what you’d want to scratch up anyways. however you can use a metal pick on electric bass and get some interesting tones. sounds like junk on a guitar.
