Acoustic Guitar Appraisal

Appraisal for a Martin Guitar?

I recently acquired a 1951 00-17 Martin Acoustic solid mahogany flattop. It was my grandpa’s old guitar and he just gave it to me. We have done some refurbishing and restringing, nothing major, everything is still original I believe. The neck is very slightly bent so I think we’re going to get a rod put in it. I’m wondering if anyone knows a general amount that this guitar would be worth? It’s in very nice condition, there’s hardly an scratches or dings in it.

Thanks guys!

The best way to know what something is worth, is to see what someone is willing to pay for it. I’d suggest putting it on Ebay. If you don’t want to sell it, put some crazy reserve on it like $100,000. You can try contacting sothebys auction house, I believe the do free appraisals. I would advise doing as little work to it as possible… and not even playing it.
I would safely say its in the ballpark of $2,000-$3,000 if sold by a store.
