Guitar neck truss rod adjustment, acoustic guitar?

What lowers/heightens the strings, turning the truss rod clockwise or counter-clockwise? I have put on new medium light strings on my near new epiphone acoustic and the neck bends slightly forward, hieghtening the action.

Fooling around with the truss rod affects the action very very slightly.
Now, you have added 150 lb of pressure on the neck and it is normal for the bow in the center.
The clearance from strink to fingerboard is about 1/16″. Turn the truss rod 1/4 turn clockwise to begin. Before doin this, loosen the 2 middle strings to release some pressure, turn 1/4 turn. Now tune to pitch.
Repeat if necessary but this time, just turn the rod in increments.
Don’t worry if you made the neck too straight, just loosed the rod counter-clockwise.
Even after adjusting the neck perfectly, you might have to file the bridge saddle just the same to lower the action a little more.
